Heather is a passionate curator of beauty and healing through the lens of feminine energy. The path she walked was not straight, but every step ushered her back to her true self. Today’s guest is Emmy award winning documentary filmmaker, TedX speaker, and empowering storyteller with a background in television, Sarah Moshman! Sarah aims to tell stories with strong female role models to uplift, inform, and inspire the world around her. 

 

Sarah’s work has been featured on Netflix, PBS, Upworthy, Marie Claire, CNN, and Good Morning America. Sarah has directed and produced 3 feature-length documentaries: The Empowerment Project: Ordinary Women Doing Extraordinary Things (2014), Losing Sight of Shore (2017) and NEVERTHELESS (2020) and her latest film is a narrative short about the 1st mother in space entitled UNBOUND starring Lauren Lapkus. Sarah is dedicated to telling stories that uplift, inform and inspire as well as showcase strong female role models on screen.Prior to focusing on documentaries Sarah worked as a field producer on the hit ABC show Dancing with the Stars for 10 seasons as well as shows on NBC, MTV, Lifetime, Bravo and the Food Network. She also directs branded content for EllenTube, Tastemade, Mattel, AT&T and more. Sarah is an inspiring public speaker, author, and an adjunct professor in documentary film, passionate about empowering the next generation of storytellers.

This week, we are diving into the topic of community advocacy and healthcare with human services worker and child and family liaison, Erin Benjamin! With 10 years of experience working with children and families in the community mental health field, Erin strongly believes in being a voice for children in the system, and works hard to make positive system improvements through advocacy and policy changes. Currently, she works as a Child and Family Liaison at a Medicaid serving health plan. She holds a B.A in Human Services, with an emphasis on Children and Family systems and is currently in the process of applying for graduate school with a focus on Human Services Leadership and Organizational Management. Asha is a storyteller and advocate who is using her platform to raise up and empower voices from marginalized communities. Asha was born in the UK, raised in Australia, and now resides in Los Angeles, California. She has spent the last 16 years creating, producing and hosting content for networks such as MTV, MSN.com, Disney, ABC, Nickelodeon, Fox, Nine Network Australia and more. Considered a voice of authority in the feminist media space, she has delivered keynote addresses for organizations such as Accenture, UCLA and March for Moms. Asha has also moderated panels for UN Women, Mount Saint Mary’s University, EmpowHer Institute, Women’s Voices Now Film Festival, rePRO Film Fest, and Continuum Collective. Asha is a recipient of the Awesome Without Borders grant from the Harnisch Foundation, and the 2022 Creative Power Award grant. Asha is currently in post production on a short documentary about later abortion, in development on a docu-series about global abortion laws with an award-winning UK production company, and hosts the rePRO Film Podcast interview series for the rePRO Film Fest. Asha is a board member of the Religious Coalition for Reproduction Choice (RCRC) since 2021. Through her work, Asha focuses on reproductive rights, gender equality, and the representation of women in media. She is passionate about empowering women, girls and femmes to take up space, raise their voice and share their story with the world.

Jill Petersen is a serial optimist with a bubbly personality and animated expressions. She is a wife, mother of two boys, and seeks fun in everything she does! She is an experienced coach & former leader at lululemon, where she spent nearly a decade building her passions and career. Her superpower lies within connecting & building trust quickly with others to help people find their greatness.Jill holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (Communication) and (Mass Communication) from Arizona State University. Mary Frances is an avid community supporter, adult cheerleader, experienced coach & leader. Part of her joy as a mentor is not just being the one who leads but also having the ability to raise others to live into their leadership potential. She has a B.S. in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University and an MBA in the school of hard knocks. She started her entrepreneurship journey as a certified Crossfit L2 coach and gym owner, where she worked with hundreds of kids, teens, and adults.She is an H-O-T leader: Humble, Open, and Transparent, sharing about her tumultuous past dealing with family trauma, abuse, CPS, and a broken home, all of which have led to a strong desire to break the mold and assist others in doing the same.
